Coming
from a win against Bangladesh in the first game of Super 4s, Sri Lanka boasts
one of the best bowling sides in the tournament. Dasun Shanaka is mightily
impressed with their bowling to defend a low score against batting-heavy
Bangladesh. The team maintained its 13 straight winning streak in the ODIs and
looks formidable. Their bowlers succeeded in taking wickets at regular
intervals and provided much-needed breakthroughs. Lanka had complete control
over the game due to their remarkable bowling display. While the team looks to
continue the same form in today's match against India, they must work hard to dismantle
mighty Indian batting.
India
displayed complete supremacy against the power-packed Pakistan in yesterday's
game. Playing on the reserve day, India outperformed Pakistan and won by 228
runs, the biggest margin in the ODIs. Continuing the solid partnership between
Rohit and Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul made centuries and never
allowed Pakistan bowlers to dominate them. The pace attack led by Shaheen Shah
Afridi and Naseem Shah had no clue how to stop Kohli and KL Rahul. Virat scored
his 47th ODI century and became the fastest player to reach 13000 runs. Virat
joined Hashim Amla to score four consecutive centuries in ODIs at a venue. This
is Virat's fourth straight century at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. He
broke many records with his stunning performance and claimed his supremacy in
the game. There were so many apprehensions about KL Rahul, who is back to the
team from an injury, but he answered all of them with his superb batting. KL
scored his sixth century and built the highest partnership in the Asia Cup.
